Welcome to the Comco Ikarus C42 site

The aim of this site is to be the reference for anything to do with
the Comco Ikarus C42, but mainly a production / registration history of the aircraft.

This site has no official connection with Comco Ikarus or any company associated with the aircraft.
It is run by an aircraft enthusiast with a love of the C42.

Build by Comco Ikarus GmbH at their factory in Mengen-Hohentengen, Germany. The Prototype (serial 9507-0001) was built in 1995 and production now tops 1,700 aircraft and can be found in over 35 countries around the world.

Built on a 'backbone' of a large diameter aluminium tube running the length of the aircraft. Meaning that the cabin and fuselage shell is non-structural and so can be removed for inspection and repair with affecting the main integrity of the aircraft.

The aircraft was made available in kit form and over 45 examples of these 'home builds' are on the UK register.
