Beech 76 Duchess
The prototype Duchess first flew in September 1974 and was unveiled to the public on November 4, 1974, the name Duchess was chosen through a company competition.
The first production aircraft first flew on 24 May 1977, and deliveries starting in early 1978.
In 1979 a single aircraft was fitted with turbocharged Lycoming O-360 engines. Designated the Beech 76TC Duchess. This example never made the production line.
Production of the Duchess ceased in 1983 with 437 aircraft being built. Around 25 Duchesses were placed on the British register.
