Sweltering in the Garden

Got up at about 7.30am this morning and nipped out to get the papers and some diet cokes as I thought to myself 'it's gonna be a scorcher' (excuse The Sun Headline!)

I wasn't wrong, after a leisurely breakfast in the garden I set about weeding the veg patch and cutting back some brambles that have grown over from next door. Within minutes the sweat was just dripping off me and my hair was really wet - yuk yuk, I really hate that feeling. It turned into that sort of day really, doing about half an hours graft and then having to stop for water and a cool down.

However, I'm not knocking it - it's about time we had some summer. It's 5.00pm as I'm typing this and I'm sat in the garden in the shade and have decided that work is done for the day. I've had a lovely cool shower and feel clean again. Tonight, when it's cool again, we'll have dinner in the garden with some Rose wine we won yesterday I think and tonight's TV will be Midsomer Murders - it's perfect Sunday night telly I think and it being two hours long you can really chill out whilst it's on.

Dreading work tomorrow, I have to minute a long meeting in the morning which won't be fun in a hot stuffy conference room - oh well, tomorrow's another day............
