Bills
As I'm writing this two days after Thursday happened I can't really remember what happened! Other than we had something resembling 'normal' post as home which consisted of 7 bills - nice!
I have lost some of my sympathy for the postman now as I've learnt some of the perks they have been getting away with. Take this scenario - a postman finishes his round at 11.00am but he is actually paid until 1.pm as that is how long the Royal Mail reckons it should take him to get it done. He arrives back at the depot and decides to help with the sorting of mail - however as this is a 'different job' he not only gets paid up to 1.00pm for his round but also 'overtime' (apparently none as 'ghosting') for doing the sorting job. Nice work if you can get it isn't it? No wonder Royal Mail are in trouble. I do however sympathise on the pensions issue as I believe if they joined a 'final salary' scheme that is the deal and they should remain in it - by all means new employees can be sold a different package but it's very unfair for those in the current scheme to suddenly have the goal posts moved.
