Wot No Progress?

One of the admin team at work, Rosie, is getting married on Saturday so all the girls clubbed together and bought her a card and a beautiful photograph album in a beautifully embroidered box as a pressie. She was very surprised to receive anything and she was telling us about the plans for the wedding and the honeymoon in Venice – sounds wonderful.

When I got home I was disappointed to not see any progress on the roof at all – the same heap of tiles were on the driveway as were there when I left in the morning. Peter couldn’t see any difference either. We debated whether the builders had been watching sport on TV all day instead as the only sign they had actually done anything was a grimy basin in the downstairs toilet which I had to clean. Let’s hope there is more progress tomorrow as the weather is due to change next week.

Had a few Christmas catalogues in the post today – the avalanche is starting to build! I enter so many competitions we get inundated with the things (I must confess I do quite like browsing some of them though).

I was dog tired ‘again’ this evening so crept up to bed at about 8.30pm and Peter joined me to watch (or should I say sleep through) ‘Mock the Week’ and ‘Saxondale’. The bits of Saxondale I did see were very funny – especially the toy pink rabbit having it’s head ripped off in an Anger Management class (sorry, but it WAS funny!). I did manage to watch ‘Coming Down the Mountain’ earlier in the evening (which I’d taped) starring Nicholas Hoult which was excellent and very moving. The two leads were terrific.
