Ceremony

Slept through the alarm this morning - only woke up because I heard Peter moving....

Today was the big College day of the year 'Presentation Day in Winchester Cathedral' so I worked until 10 O'clock and then caught one of the College mini-buses down to Winchester. This year there were too many students to just do a morning ceremony so it's been an all day affair with an afternoon session too. My allotted task was to show VIP's and Governors to their seats and to hand out special prizes to students.

Winchester cathedral is beautiful and it makes it into a very colourful occasion with lots of the students, lecturers and Governors wearing full gowns. All went smoothly but it was quite a tiring day and I was glad when we were able to clear up and head back to College.

Forgot to mention that our War of the Worlds tickets arrived yesterday. They were very expensive but what got to me was that there was a £1.25 handling charge and a £7.90 service charge - what for? Sticking some tickets into an envelope! Talk about money for old rope. Anyway, I'm really really looking forward to seeing the show in December.

Dad phoned today and he is going to come over on Saturday to help us with our plumbing - don't know what we'd do without him.
