Monday at Home
Peter went back to work today but I had booked an extra day's leave to give myself a bit more time to get the house straight again after our hols.
It has been beautiful and sunny all day and I've enjoyed doing 'house wifey' things today which included:-
It has been beautiful and sunny all day and I've enjoyed doing 'house wifey' things today which included:-
- washing the net curtains from the conservatory
- hoovering the car
- checking the oil
- re-potting some plants
- picking our first crop of tomatoes
- cooking up a batch of mince to last us a couple of days
- catching up on laundry
- hoovered upstairs and down
- dusting our wine rack which was shamefully dusty
- sorting out our book stash which is working its' way from the bookshelves into all areas in the front room
- washing skirting boards in conservatory (they were covered in ant powder from an earlier infestation)
- polishing
- thinning out the paperwork that had been threatening to take over the kitchen
- did some weeding in the front garden
After all that I treated myself to watching a film 'Notes on a Scandal' starring Judy Dench and Kate Blanchett - it was very good. Also started a new book 'Blind Sighted' by Karin Slaughter (yep another gore fest book for me!)
Also went to post office to collect a parcel and stuck the car through the car wash on the way home.
Having achieved all that I'm feeling quite chilled and work shouldn't be too bad tomorrow as I will be on my own as both bosses will still be on holiday, giving me plenty of time to catch up on my email inbox I hope!
