Coffee, Plans & TV
Today we went to Costa Coffee as soon as it opened at 10.00am. I went and grabbed one of the comfy sofa's while Peter popped into Tesco's to get the papers. He was gone ages and eventually turned up a bit stressed as the queues had been bad in Tesco and the staff incompetent. However, he had picked up quite a few bargains so that was cool.
Whilst waiting for Peter I contacted Wendy and arranged a 'girly lunch' for next Saturday (which will replace our planned Friday night out last week). Peter will be at an air show that day so it will mean I can got and see my parents and friends in one day and make the best use of the journey up to Andover (nothing, if not practical me!).
We spent a bit of time in Costa reading the papers and then went to the main post office to post my latest job application (apparently after a strike it's best to post in main boxes) as I want to meet the Companies deadline of Wednesday. Then we had a good look around The Works and very unusually didn't buy anything. I was tempted with three Jodi Picout books for £10 (large print versions) but decided to be sensible for once.
Before going home Peter drove us up the road to Southampton Airport just on a quick visit to see if there were any interesting planes in. Police and Security Guards were everywhere because of yesterday's incident at Glasgow Airport. Peter told the Security Guard what we were doing there and he just stopped short of saying Peter was mad for evening thinking of looking round and said we were likely to get questioned by the Police if we hung about. We didn't and drove off.
This afternoon we are watching a Stephen King movie The Langoliers and are generally chilling. I have an Ebay parcel and Readitswapit parcel to wrap and that's the extent of my responsibilities today.
Next week is going to be crunch time at work - all the job descriptions will be out for every admin post in the place, including mine, and I will need to decide whether to apply for my own job, another job within the organisation (or several) or leave. It is going to be a very tough decision indeed.
