A Mixed Day

As Peter has put in his blog we had planned on doing lots of things today, most importantly visiting Peter's mums grave but were prevented from doing so as the roads in the area were gridlocked due to an accident on the M27. Such a shame for Peter, I'm very lucky to have both my parents still around and in good health and it made me think about how grateful I should be about that.

We made the best of the situation and got as far as Romsey and had a wander around the town, ate our lunch in the grounds of the Abbey, and then did a bit of geocaching. On route we discovered a park we did't know existed which was a nice surprise.

We then headed back home, gave the grass a mow and then relaxed in the garden. It's been really hot today - 29 degrees!

Watched the 2nd episode of the Scarecrow Doctor Who tonight and I've finished my Joanna Trollop book so time to pick up a new read - think I'm going to choose Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
