Friday

My Current Book

Slept right through the alarm this morning which is unheard of - normally I wake up before it goes off - so our late night, as predicted, had left me very tired - oh dear I just can't hack it any more !

Fairly busy morning at work followed by a quiet afternoon. Was very glad to leave at 4.30 and head home. We had tea in the garden - fish cakes, baked potatoe and salad - yum. Then Peter got on with some gardening and I do some housework before settling down to watch the Friday night gardening programmes. We'll probably catch Have I got News for You too.

Had some rather annoying post today. A few weeks ago I filled in a questionnaire that the Lib Dems (that run our local Council) had sent out - it was about crime. I ticked the box that said I'd like to see Police actually on foot in the local area. Since completing this questionnaire I have had a letter saying 'thanks for completing the questionnaire' and then today another letter enclosing a letter that our local MP has sent to John Reid about Crime (the copy letter to John Reid was on high quality embossed paper). What a total waste! So the lib dems have wasted two first class stamps and envelopes and paper sending me that info when I'd rather they spent it things we actually need in this area. God knows how many other they've sent it to. I would write to them but then I'd probably get another letter of acknowledgement!!!

Tomorrow we're going to see my mum and dad and are hoping to cadge some plant cuttings as we have a few gaps in the borders. Dad is also apparently taking us to a local bluebell wood which is supposed to be spectacular - so I'm looking forward to that.

Sunday we are planning a 'pottering day' and I hope to get chance to read some more of my current book which is Crippen by John Boyne. So far I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I also want to look at the books that I got for my birthday as I haven't really had chance to look at them properly yet.

Good Things Today
