Blog Part 1

I will probably do two blogs today - one 'pre' and one 'post' party. Woke up feeling a bit 'down' this morning and after watching a bit of the News and something I had taped I slunk back to hide under the duvet. I heard the Postman come and Peter brought up a letter for me. It hardly lightened my mood though as it was the expected letter from work saying I was in a 'pool' of people could are 'at risk' of being made redundant. Nice touch to send it to your home address I thought - happy weekend everyone! I'm not going to get too stressed about it as my view is 'if it happens, it happens' and until I'm sure if I'm one of the 'chosen ones' - why worry about it. However, at least it's a bit of advanced warning and gives me a chance to tighten my belt so to speak - the earliest that redundancies will happen will be August (as Carol at work pointed out - exactly the week that Peter and I are going on holiday!).

Just done an hour of housework and now having a rest before doing the next bit - watching 'A Taste of my Life' with Nigel Slater and this week it stars Lenny Henry - what a thoroughly nice guy he is! Peter has just sent a text to say that his train is cancelled so he can't get to football today so he's heading back with the papers. Shame for Peter that it's cancelled but I think he would secretly welcome an extra bit of time at home and it will also mean we won't have to rush around this evening getting ready for the party too.

Better get back to phase two of the cleaning now.....................
