Bin Collections

Our Council have a complex bin collection system. We have alternate fortnightly bin collections for normal waste (black bin) and recyclable waste (green bin). Then one a month we have a glass/battery collection. Once a week we also pay to have a garden waste bag collected. Last week was a right pig's ear - everyone on our estate put out their glass boxes for collection on the Monday but none were collected (apparently the lorry broke down). The box was eventually collected on Wednesday - therefore boxes full of glass were left out for 3 days (an invitation to yobs everywhere to have a 'smashing time') and the batteries weren't collected at all so we will have to store them for another month. On Wednesday our green bag wasn't collected and therefore that was left our for an extra day. Arhhhhhhhh

The Wrong Repeats

I’ve often wondered why some programmes are repeated and repeated on the BBC (and other channels for that matter) whilst other quality programmes seem to get one airing and that’s it. For example Only Fools and Horses is on all the time but excellent dramas from the past never see the light of day again; The Duchess of Duke Street, Edward the Seventh, Jonathan Creek to name but a few. I’ve always wondered why that is.
